About Edie
In my stories, miracles are interrupted…but sometimes a few sneak through.
All of my main characters – humans, cats, dogs, dragons, aliens or dead people – have a mix of attitude and heart. They start out damaged and end up duct-taped together, with a few pieces missing. My goal is to write books that make people feel good. Books that leave readers with a warm glow because they touched their hearts and a small ache that they ended.
I was weaned on fairy tales, but when my mother unleashed me into the aisles of my local library, I gravitated to Nancy Drew. I also devoured comic books about Wonder Woman and Super Girl. My penchant for strong heroines who don’t wait for men to save them is reflected in my books.
I live in southeastern Wisconsin with my husband, two dogs and a special cat. I started writing in the 1990’s, selling short stories in the mystery genre to National magazines and anthologies. In addition to nonfiction articles, I wrote verses for greeting cards, and I possess a drawer filled with cards for any occasion. I’m co-founder of Write Attitude, an inspirational website for writers. I’ve won writing contests and was an American Title V finalist with Dead People, the first book of my Haunted Hearts series, which was a Kindle best-seller.
You can read about my journey as an independent author on my blog. I also blog at Magical Musings, along with 8 amazing and brilliant writers. And every third Monday I post articles on self-publishing and promo at the How To Write Shop and pretend I know what I’m talking about. Luckily, I have amazingly talented and smart friends who I learn from, and I pass it forward.
