Rules of Love and Murder-Amazon_333x500I’ve been neglecting my blog, but I’m back now and plan to blog at least once a week. It’s been an odd year, with some or ups and downs. Including a computer crash. Still, I managed to get a lot of work done, and I’ve started a new series, Love & Murder. Truth About Love & Murder (book 1) and Rules of Love & Murder (book 2) are on pre-order for July 20. I’m VERY happy about both of these books. I started out in my r, writing short stories for print mystery magazines. I was addicted to mysteries. I read them like I eat chocolate now.

Then I was sick one day, and my sister-in-law came to my house and dropped off a bag full of romances.

Now I had another addiction. It’s still chocolate,  but it came with new and delicious flavors.

So why not combine the flavors? And add a little twist. In fact, add a few more twists. And it’s not light chocolate, either. It’s 70% dark (what I actually eat – though, sadly, if I don’t have 70%, I won’t turn down a lesser percentage). But I would say the Love & Murder books are at the 70% level of suspense and mystery and romance.

What they have in common is military veterans, people in emotional pain, people trying to get through the bad parts of their lives to happy parts, people dead (it is suspense!), more than one person who might be a little crazy, strong female characters, and even a wry sense of humor. These books are set in Wisconsin – the first mostly in the Milwaukee area, and the second and third in Door County, which is known as the Cape Cod of the Midwest.

I’m very happy about these two books. Truth About Love & Murder is on sale for the first week, only $2.99! I’ve gotten great feedback from readers. I just want to babble on about it, but click on the links and read the blurbs and the excerpts – and then pre-order!

I will be putting them up in print, too.

It feels good to be back. How are you feeling?

  1. Woot! Glad to see you back, Edie! Just ordered my copy. 🙂

(Lol re: reading like eating chocolate!)

How am I feeling? I guess “halfway” is the theme for me right now. I started two novellas and am half finished with each, also have a novel half finished, and the first 3 out of 4 of a planned series outlined (though that’s more than half.) 🙂

Am also about half finished with all my cover artwork due soon, and have decided to divide my creative career in half – soon, will no longer be doing the cover art at all except for one publisher, and not even sure how much longer for that. For that same publisher, will also soon be dividing my workload in half – cutting down from editing and covers, to just covers.

This is due to a lot of things… maybe I’ll just blog about that, lol. So yeah, “Half” is the theme for me right now. 🙂

    • Becky, you’re so sweet! And ‘halfway’ is about right. Yay on the novellas! I’m happy for you. I still remember the short story you wrote – the one with the mask and the spankings. lol And I remember it in a very good way. I hope you do publish more novellas and books!

I’ll check out your blog. I think I’m missing a lot that’s going on in your life. 🙁

  2. Thanks, Edie! 🙂

I think we’re all missing out on a lot of things going on with people. It’s so easy to get lost in the hectic pace of our lives, and it seems I haven’t had the time or the energy to either keep up with others or to share my own. 🙁

    • Becky, so true. I have visitors this week, too, and we’ve doing a lot of family stuff. Stuff that I want to do. But I want to do it all! lol
