Yesterday I finished a revision with entire scenes rewritten and many smaller revisions. When I saved that last draft and sat back, I felt like I was crawling out of the Cat Cave. I sent CATTITUDE to two beta readers. I’m very happy with it, but no matter how carefully I read the revisions, I know there will be mistakes that my eyes slide over. After all, my mind knows what I mean.

Shortly after I sent it off, Karin Tabke emailed me. She’s leaving on a long writing weekend, her version of a Cat Cave. Her blog day at Murder She Writes is Friday, and she asked if I would guest. So I said yes, thank you. My blog on Saying Yes to Opportunity is up now. I’m talking about my journey into indie publishing. Stop off and say hi if you get a chance.

So what’s your version of the Cat Cave? Have you been in it lately? Or are you still there?

  1. Welcome back to the world outside of the Cat Cave, although I’m sure it’s a fantastic place to be! I’ll stop by your guest spot soon!

  2. Elle, we just got home from Festa Italia about an hour ago. We’ve been socializing for the past two days. I’m so glad I finished. Otherwise it would’ve been tough getting back into it.

  3. Wow Edie, this new site of yours is fantastic. Clean and professional looking. You and Michelle did good. Very good.

So glad to hear you’re moving forward with Cattitude, and I love the pic you have for the cover. Love the way the cat’s tail mirrors the girls hair.

  4. Theresa, thanks! I’m so happy with my site. And the cover, too. The cat was my idea, but the pony-tailed girl was the idea of the friend who did my cover. She and Michelle are both brilliant!

  5. Oh, Edie! I’m so excited for you and Cattitude!

  6. Robin, thanks! I’m getting ready for National now, so I have a lot to be excited about.

  7. I feel like I’m crawling out of my own cat cave. I’m finally getting around to blogs again. That’s subject to change of course because bossman is coming back tomorrow.

Congrats on getting your revisions done, Edie. I’m sure the version I read is completely different from this final version. You’ll have to tell me what’s changed on the drive down to Florida … and I might just have to read it again to see what you’ve improved on.

Also love the kitty photo above. Appropriate

  8. Liz, you’ll be free of the Cat Cave for awhile. We’ll avoid them in Orlando. :)

I’ll have to check and see if I send you the revised version. I’m not sure if I did.

  9. Coming to the blog party late, but congrats on finishing the edits, hon. Also, I read your blog over at Murder She Writes and I love it. I swear, every time I read anything with regards to your writing journey, it’s like this beaming smile leaks off the page. I LOVE that!!! :-D

  10. Marcia, I’m feeling that beaming smile now, even though this is taking me longer than I thought. I hoped to be done today, but that’s not going to happen. Friday, at the latest.
